Quenton Nelson’s pockets are $26,000 lighter today. The NFL announced that it fined him for a block that went viral. They saw the block on Twitter, and fined him for leading with his helmet on the block. Now the rookie has his first NFL fine.
This fine is ridiculous for a number of reasons. First off, he doesn’t lead with his helmet. He executes a textbook block and destroys the defender. He didn’t try to spear him or anything. Nelson just went out and made a hell of a block.
Secondly, the NFL didn’t even know about it until the Colts posted it on Twitter with a fake scream added to it.
