Sports fans love rankings. We love them even more if it means we get to compare players and teams across vastly different eras and argue about them. Thought exercises like these seem to be even more fun in the dog days of the NFL offseason, and today, former Dallas Cowboys VP of Player Personnel and current NFL Media senior analyst Gil Brandt gave us plenty to mull over.
Over the last week and a half, Brandt has been compiling all-time rankings of NFL players by position on NFL.com. Today he ranked his top 32 wide receivers, and it should come as no surprise that three legendary Indianapolis or Baltimore Colts (and one-time Colt, longtime Houston Texan Andre Johnson) made the cut.
