The Indianapolis Colts exercised quarterback Andrew Luck’s fifth-year option of his rookie deal. This meant the Colts were going wait until 2016 to get a new deal with their franchise quarterback completed. However, both Luck and the Colts were carefully watching Russell Wilson’s contract negotiation. With Wilson signing an extension on July 31, the stage is set for Luck to ask for a record-breaking deal.
The Seattle Seahawks agreed to a four-year, $87.6 contract extension with Wilson. Reportedly, the extension includes a $31 million signing bonus and $60 million of Wilson’s contract is guaranteed.
