AUBURN, Ala.—The Sycamore offense struck early and never looked back as they defeated Western Illinois 7-1 on the second day of the Tiger Invitational in Auburn, Ala.
Indiana State got things going early in the top of the first inning when freshman Shaye Barton received a two out walk before junior Brooke Riemenschneider hit a double off the wall to score Barton and give the Sycamores a 1-0 advantage.
In the bottom of the frame the Leathernecks answered back, scoring one run off two hits to tie the game 1-1.
