TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State long-snapper Joshua Appel has been named to the STATS FCS All-America Team as a First-Team honoree, STATS LLC announced in its release this morning.

Appel, a junior finance major from Normal, Ill., was also named a First-Team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference member and an Honorable Mention MVFC All-Academic team member. The Preseason All-MVFC honoree played in all 11 games for the Sycamores in 2015 and did not botch a single snap on both punt and field goal/PAT attempts.

Appel is Indiana State’s 42nd All-American honoree in football – the first long-snapper in ISU history to be an All-American and the 16th Sycamore overall to earn some variation of a First-Team honor.
