Stephen Jackson has announced his retirement from the NBA. The former Indiana Pacers swingman is a lightning rod among fans for his role in the Malice at the Palace and subsequent leadership role in the Jail Pacers era.
Though he provided many a memorable, favorable moment on the court, his off-court controversy and general demeanor means that he will likely always be a villain in Pacers lore.
But it should be noted that he was generally a beloved teammate wherever he went, as the likes of Tim Duncan and everyone on the We Believe Warriors squad always loved the guy.
