A normal afternoon at the Wheeler-Dowe Boys and Girls Club is frenetic. The children are balls of energy while they play everything from air hockey, to ping pong and basketball. The usual joyful chaos grew to a fever pitch when Pacers power forward Lavoy Allen walked in bringing with him gifts to kickoff the holiday season.
For the second straight year, Allen, who was joined by his family, brought smiles to hundreds of children and their parents at his annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway and Pizza Party. The event started with a pizza dinner for the exuberant youngsters and those in attendance received a slice of pizza, an ice cream sandwich and a bag filled with various Pacers accessories.
