Indiana Adds Pittsburgh’s Josh Newkirk

Indiana basketball’s roster is complete after it welcomed Pittsburgh transfer Josh Newkirk to the program as its final scholarship player. Newkirk, a point guard, is recovering from a knee injury and will sit out this season per NCAA transfer rules. The good news is he will have two years of eligibility remaining. Fun fact: he actually had an offer from Indiana when he was in high school.

Last season, Newkirk averaged 5.9 points, 2.7 assists and 1.3 rebounds per game. He played in all of Pitt’s 34 games last season, starting four.

Now his numbers won’t wow you, but this is a solid and necessary pick up for Indiana.
