Redbirds in the Pros: Stewart Back to the Bigs

NORMAL, Ill.Brock Stewart recorded his first big-league save in his season debut for the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 20. Stewart finished off a 12-0 win with three shutout innings, allowing just one walk while fanning four.

The next day, he was optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

But Stewart wasn't even back with Los Angeles' Triple-A affiliate long enough to make an appearance. He was recalled by the big-league club June 26 as the Dodgers placed veteran starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy on the 10-day disabled list.

After a shoulder ailment sidelined Stewart for nearly the first two months of the season, he made his season debut at Class A Advanced Rachno Cucamonga, where he began the 2016 season.
