Alyssa Wiebel belted a grand slam and Shannon Felde extended her hitting streak to nine games Saturday as the Illinois State softball team defeated Florida A&M, 6-3, in the Bubly Invitational at Gainesville, Fla.
Wiebel's blast gave ISU (2-12) a 4-0 first-inning lead over the Rattlers. An Emme Olson double plated Felde in the second inning for a 5-0 Redbird advantage. ISU tacked on an insurance run in the seventh when Andrea Coursey scored on Wiebel's sacrifice fly.
Normal Community product Ali Domkuski (1-1) gave up five hits in five innings before Morgan Day relieved in the sixth.
