PEORIA, IL – The Bradley baseball team claimed the rubber game of the I-74 Rivalry on Sunday afternoon after freshman hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning for an 8-6 Braves victory against Illinois State. BU improves to 18-19 on the year and 4-5 against Missouri Valley Conference foes, while the Redbirds drop to 11-27 and 1-8 in MVC play.
The Braves trailed, 6-3, after ISU plated four in the top half of the sixth but quickly responded with three runs in the bottom half of the inning before Shadid's winner in the eighth.
