Bradley beats Surrey Scorchers Select All-Stars 73-66 in London

LONDON — The Bradley men’s basketball team got off to a fast start and held on to win its first preseason exhibtion with a 73-66 victory over the Surrey Scorchers All-Stars Select on Tuesday.

The Braves jumped to a 7-0 lead and were ahead 22-12 at the end of the first quarter at Surrey Sports Park. The game was played under international rules, which includes four 10-minute quarters, 24-second shot clock, NBA 3-point line and offensive goaltending was allowed.

“I thought we played an experienced, professional team,” Bradley coach Brian Wardle told bradleybraves.com. “They were grown men out there so it was a good test for us with the physical nature of the game.
