PEORIA, IL - Thirteen members of the 2017 Bradley Baseball team are fine-tuning their skills this summer by playing in collegiate wood-bat leagues, including five in the popular Northwoods League.
Among the early-season highlights, rising senior DH Derek Bangert already has launched four home runs and driven in 10 runners in his first 11 games for the Northwoods League Kenosha Kingfish. He has reached base safely in 10 consecutive games and was a combined 5-for-10 over the weekend in games at Battle Creek (3-for-5) and at Rockford (2-for-5).
Rising sophomore OF Dan Bolt is playing for the Springfield (IL) Sliders in the Prospect League and also has reached base safely in 10 of his first 11 games this summer.
