If you heard a loud cheer in the South Side neighborhood late Wednesday night, it's a good bet it was the O'NEILLs.
Longtime Champaign residents JULIE and TERRY O'NEILL watched their favorite team, the Houston Astros, take the World Series with a 5-1 Game 7 win against the Dodgers.
Their youngest son, DAN, former Central and Illinois baseball player, is the Astros' senior director of business operations. He joined the team in 2012, first working as director of major league team operations.
The 40-year-old O'Neill was in Los Angeles with the team.
