Illinois Football: Illini Coaching Changes for Lovie Smith

According to Alex Marvez of FoxSports, Lovie is eyeing Mike Sherman as the offensive coordinator, Tim Holt as the offensive line coach, and Andrew Hayes-Stoker as the wide receivers coach.

These would all be very interesting hires.

Mike Sherman is a name many people know because he was the head coach of the Green Bay Packers in the early-to-mid 2000’s. Following his stint with the Packers, Sherman had a stop with the Houston Texans as an assistant head coach and then landed with Texas A&M after 2 years in Houston.

As the Aggies coach Sherman didn’t succeed on the football field but he did well as a recruiter.
