It was announced today that defensive tackle Ryan O’Malley has committed to the Illini. This now makes the 2nd recruit to have committed to the program for 2017. Mike Epstein is the other recruit that is committed to this class.
Rivals has yet to rate O’Malley but 247sports and Scout both have him as a solid 3-star recruit. According to 247sports composite rankings O’Malley is the 677th best player in the class of 2017. He is also ranked as the 45th best defensive tackle and the 10th best player in the state of Illinois.
