It's been a busy day for the Illinois coaching staff. Just minutes after news of an offer to 2017 guard DaMonte Williams, Joe Henricksen has reported that 2017 forward Christian Negron has received one as well. The Elgin, IL native (Larkin) is listed at 6'6, 195 lbs. and is rated as the No. 93 overall recruit in 247Sports' composite rankings. Negron has also received interest from Wisconsin, Purdue, Iowa, Northwestern, Bradley, and DePaul.

In addition to Negron and Williams, the Illinois coaching staff has also expressed interest in fellow class of 2017 stars Nojel Eastern, Jeremiah Tilmon, and Alonzo Verge.
