Happy 20th birthday today to sophomore Aron Hiltzik, a key member of Brad Dancer’s 17th-ranked Fighting Illini tennis team.
Through Friday’s home match against Michigan State, the New Trier High School product has compiled a singles record of 13-4 and is ranked among college tennis’s top 70 players.
As a freshman in 2014-15, Hiltzik assembled a 29-7 singles record, including a mark of 8-1 in Big Ten matches.
His 29 victories stands third-most by an Illini freshman. Today at noon, the Illini face No. 21 Michigan where Aron’s brother, Jared, will be recognized at Senior Day ceremonies.
