Texans safety Andre Hal returns from lymphoma, dedicates game to deceased father

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Andre Hal looked up toward the sky before kickoff and gave thanks to his late father.

The Texans safety's father passed away last Tuesday from complications stemming from a heart attack.

Andre Hal Sr. was 55 years old.

It was an especially emotional game for Hal. He started a 20-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars during his first game since being activated from the non-football illness list after a successful battle with lymphoma.

"I looked up and thanked God and thanked my daddy," Hal said. "I know he wanted me back on the field.
