Already armed with ample cap space, the Houston Texans will have more money to spend in free agency than initially expected.

The NFL announced Friday that the 2024 salary cap will be set at $255.4 million per team, marking a record jump of more than $30 million from last season. On top of that, NFL clubs will have $74 million to spend on player benefits, which includes performance-based pay.

While the Texans are on the same playing field as other NFL teams in terms of the salary cap, they're in a unique position to reap the benefits this offseason.
