Texans' DeAndre Hopkins leans on Cecil shorts for advice

Cecil Shorts has emerged as the elder statesman of the Texans' receiving corps with the departure of veteran Nate Washington this offseason to join the New England Patriots.

Shorts' veteran presence and leadership are valued by the organization, and his teammates, including Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, count on him for counsel about football and life.

Although Shorts is just 28 years old and entering his sixth NFL season and second with the Texans, the Ohio native is the oldest receiver on the roster.

"Oh man, that's crazy that Cecil is the old guy and Cecil's in his fifth or sixth year, but it just goes to show you how young we are," Hopkins said during a Hyundai NFL youth football camp.
