Texans' C.J. Fiedorowicz close to returning

Texans starting tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz is recuperating from a quadriceps injury that sidelined him against the New England Patriots and during practice this week.

Fiedorowicz is close to returning, according to a source not authorized to speak publicly.

Fiedorowicz caught a career-high 54 passes for 559 yards and four touchdowns last season.

Defensive end Christian Covington, outside linebacker Eric Lee and wide receiver Bruce Ellingotn returned to practice Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Pro Bowl defensive end-outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (leg) didn't practice again and worked on the side with other injured players. Clowney is expected to be ready for the Texans' season-opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
