New England Patriots cornerback Logan Ryan was so confident he and his teammates would be headed to Houston for Super Bowl LI that he brought a Nolan Ryan Houston Astros jersey with him to Gillette Stadium for Sunday's AFC Championship game against the Steelers.
After the Patriots' 36-17 win over the Steelers, Ryan celebrated and did postgame interviews while wearing the jersey.
When asked about his choice of postgame jersey, Ryan admitted his outfit had a meaning: "Glad you guys noticed that. We're heading to Houston so thought it was fitting"
Ryan doesn't have any Houston connections - he grew up in New Jersey and played his college ball at Rutgers - but if he's going to pay homage to Houston's sports heroes, he will be welcomed when he and the Patriots come to town next week.
