A familiar face and voice flashed across the video screen inside the library at Holub Middle School.
It was Green Bay Packers tight end Martellus Bennett, who spoke to students via Facetime from Hawaii as he donated 40 copies of his children's book, "Hey AJ, it's Saturday" to Alief School Libraries as part of National Library Week.
Bennett's parents, Michael Bennett Sr. and Pennie Bennett, hosted a reading at the school.
"I grew up in the same place y'all grew up in," said Bennett, an Alief Taylor graduate and former Texas A&M standout who won a Super Bowl championship in February with the New England Patriots.
