The third string quarterback was thrown to the wolves with little protection and paid the price.
Tom Savage was under pressure all night against the Dallas Cowboys, taking sacks and hits during throws. Halfway through the fourth quarter, he took one last hit and landed on his throwing shoulder.

Ryan Mallett came in and played one ineffectual series while Savage headed straight for the locker room. After the game, Savage said this:
