The final defensive position breakdown in our series here at the Toro Times is focused on how the Houston Texans are looking at the safety position heading in to 2015. Perhaps no unit on the team has seen as much overhaul as this group has during the offseason.
Both starters from last season are gone as Houston showed no interest in bringing back last year’s one season rental at free safety Kendrick Lewis, who is now with Baltimore. Then they surprisingly waived D.J. Swearinger, a second round pick from 2013, who was promptly claimed by Tampa Bay.
