Tari Eason to have surgery for 'benign growth', will miss rest of season

Tari Eason's chances of returning to the court in 2023-24 looked increasingly slim in recent weeks. Houston Rockets coach Ime Udoka confirmed fears regarding Eason's lower-leg injury Saturday night.

Udoka said Eason will undergo season-ending surgery Monday due to a "benign growth on his lower leg bone," per Space City Home Network's Vanessa Richardson. Udoka noted Eason's growth was pre-existing, but it "flared up" after he was hit during game action multiple times early this season. Eason is reportedly expected to miss at least four months before resuming any form of on-court activity.
