The Rockets, the Rockets Women’s Organization and Reliant will hold their third Book Drive to benefit the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation on Thursday before the Rockets game against the Nuggets.
Fans who bring new or gently used children’s or young adult’s books to the game will receive one raffle ticket per book donated. Each prize package offers a chance to meet one of the Rockets starters and includes an autographed jersey and shoes.
A book collection will also be held at 8 to 10 a.m. on Thursday.
“We decided to do this entire month of March collecting books,” said Laurel D’Antoni, who is the wife of Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni and formed the Rockets Women’s Organization.
