As the NBA league office begins its investigation into Kevin Porter Jr.'s arrest and assault charges, the Houston Rockets are working to trade the 23-year-old guard, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Porter, who was set to enter his fifth NBA season in 2023-24, was arrested early Monday morning in New York and subsequently charged with felony assault and strangulation charges after a reported incident with his girlfriend, WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick. Per documents obtained by the Associated Press, Porter is accused of causing multiple injuries to Gondrezick which include a "fractured neck vertebrae and a cut above her right eye.
