Rockets' Pat Beverley out with tightness in his groin muscle

Related Topics: Groin, Starting lineup, Sixth man

Rockets guard Pat Beverley was ruled out of Saturday's game with tightness in his left groin muscle, moving sixth man Eric Gordon into the starting lineup.

Beverley had left the Rockets' final game before the All Star break when the groin tightened, but worked out through the break and played and practiced since. He is considered day-to-day, Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said.

"He just felt he tweaked it a little bit," D'Antoni said. "We want to stay on top of it and make sure it's OK. It should be day-to-day."

With Gordon starting, Lou Williams will pick up extra playing time in Gordon's usual role.
