A day after the Detroit Pistons sent Marcus Thornton and Donatas Motiejunas back to the Rockets roster, the Rockets hope to send at least Thornton to Portland to join the team for the second game of the road trip.
Motiejunas could also rejoin the team in Portland on Wednesday or Thursday, but could take longer with the same questions about his back condition that led the Pistons to rescind the trade sending him to another round of tests with the Rockets in Houston.
"We're happy to have them back," Rockets interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. "We're looking forward to getting them .
