Dejean-Jones is a shooting guard played in 14 games for the New Orleans Pelicans this past season where he started in 11 games. His stats for the season were 5.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 assist in 19.9 minutes. In late February he suffered a broken wrist which ended his season, however he was determined to return to the line-up following rehab.
The incident which occurred early Saturday morning could be described as a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Dejean-Jones was in Dallas for his daughters birthday and had gone for a walk as per NBA.
