Dynamo’s Charlie Ward out 6-8 weeks with knee injury

Dynamo midfielder Charlie Ward is expected to miss 6-8 weeks after suffering a knee injury.

The 22-year old native of England dislocated the patella (kneecap) in his right knee. The injury will not require surgery.

The patella is located at the front of the knee joint where the thighbone and shinbone meet. It connects the muscles in the front of the thigh to the tibia.

Ward wrote on his Twitter account: "Gutted to be out for the next couple of months, but working hard every day to make sure I come back stronger."

He signed his first MLS contract on June 30.
