Jane Campbell did not have a great idea of where she would end up during the NWSL College Draft, but she knew one of the most unlikely places was Houston.
The Dash seemed to be set at Campbell's position of goalkeeper with Lydia Williams and Bianca Henninger under contract.
So the Stanford product was surprised when Dash coach Randy Waldrum picked her at No. 15 overall on Thursday.
"Whatever Randy sees in me, I am thankful that they believe in me," Campbell said.
Indeed, it was ultra-strong belief that led Waldrum to pick Campbell. Williams is a proven commodity as the starter for Australia's national team.
