In a move that likely adds valuable leadership to a team that will be learning under a first-year coach, the Dash on Tuesday acquired forward Tiffany Weimer in a trade with the Washington Spirit.
The Dash sent their fourth-round pick in the 2019 NWSL Draft to Washington for the 34-year old veteran.
Weimer has played for five teams, including four in the NWSL over the last five years. She played for the Boston Breakers last season and was selected by Washington in last month's Dispersal Draft.
Even though the Dash acquired Weimer in a trade, she will retain her 'free' status for the 2018 season because she was in the Dispersal Draft.
