There was another addition to the Astros on Friday aside from George Springer, righty Michael Feliz. The 22-year-old was recalled from Class AA Corpus Christi, and he’ll slot into a long relief role, freeing up Vince Velasquez to do whatever else is needed.
“I can move Velasquez in a more versatile role, having the backdrop of a longer game, an extra-inning game, Feliz can protect the game that’s in hand a little bit,” Hinch said. “Hopefully it will get him some innings to get his feet wet a little bit, but he allowed me to maneuver the bullpen a little differently.
