Biggio fans set up early for Cooperstown induction ceremony

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. – Sweat dripping down their necks, Jesus Vasquez and Pamela Lott maneuvered through folding chairs Saturday morning in search of the best spot to watch Craig Biggio’s induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Biggio’s induction was still 28 hours away, but the general admission, lawn seating area at the Clark Sports Center was already packed with hundreds of lawn chairs and tarps staked down by plastic forks at 9:30 Saturday.

Vasquez and Lott, best friends from the Pearland area, parked near the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum on Main Street and then walked for nearly a mile through this tiny village to claim four spots on the lawn.
