Utility infielder Marwin Gonzalez, who missed Monday and Tuesday’s game with a swollen left index finger, was completely unavailable Friday for the second consecutive game with the left hand ailments he suffered Wednesday night.
Gonzalez hurt his left thumb diving for a ball Wednesday.
“Now on that (left) hand we have a little bit of an issue with the finger, a little bit of an issue with the thumb, a little bit of an issue with the wrist,” A.J. Hinch said. “I’m not sure there’s anything more on that hand that he can hurt. But he’s not going to play.
