Houston right-hander Brad Peacock was perfect through three innings, though he lasted just 4 2/3, coming up short in his attempt to capture his 11th win of the season. Meanwhile, D-backs lefty Anthony Banda labored through his fourth career outing, relinquishing eight runs across four innings. Banda gave up five runs in the second inning and was stung by extra-base hits from Max Stassi, George Springer and Alex Bregman.
The Astros tacked on two runs in the third inning and another in the fourth to surge to an 8-0 lead.
