Diamondbacks feast off of Neshek in the tenth, beat Astros 6-4 in first game of series

The highlights and stats will show that Pat Neshek lost it for the Astros on Friday night at Minute Maid Park. The righthanded reliever, after all, is the one who gave up consecutive home runs to Wellington Castillo and Jake Lamb in the 10th inning.

There was plenty of blame to go around in the Astros’ clubhouse, however, after they lost to the Diamondbacks 6-4 in 10 innings before a crowd of 34,720.

The surprising AL West leaders have come to expect much better baseball than what they showed while opening a three-game series.

The bullpen, which has been one of the team’s strengths this season, stumbled as Chad Qualls and Tony Sipp each failed to strand inherited runners.
