Honokaa wraps up playoff spot

Alexis Martinez homered and tripled in her two at-bats Wednesday, Destynee Carvalho provided four innings of solid relief and Honokaa slugged its way to the BIIF softball playoffs with a 13-10 victory against Hawaii Prep at home.
The Dragons (7-9) finished the regular season by winning their fourth game in a row and secured the fourth seed in the Division II playoffs, where they will play Konawaena in a best-of-three semifinals next week.
Ka Makani (2-12) scored seven runs in the third, taking advantage of four walks and two errors, to take an 8-7 lead, but Carvalho helped stem the tide, allowing two hits and two unearned runs, with two walks and a strikeout.
