Late April saw me cold and taciturn. I counted rainy days until May. Because I had tickets. Like Cameron Diaz in "Charlie’s Angels," I love tickets! As a little kid, I had a severe hang-up with horses. Each year, I waited for the first Saturday in May, sitting mere feet from the television for the horse world’s greatest wonder — the Kentucky Derby.
Love of horses continued into adulthood, when I became the happy owner of a tall, frivolous half-Thoroughbred therapy horse.
