Packers place Chris Banjo on Injured Reserve to make room for a cornerback, per report

When it rains, it pours.

Earlier today, we learned that starting cornerback Damarious Randall had groin surgery and will be out a few weeks. That likely will leave the Packers without their top three cornerbacks this week, since Sam Shields is on injured reserve and Quinten Rollins is also working through a groin injury.

Now there is more bad news out of the secondary. NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo is reporting that the Packers are planning to put safety and special teams ace Chris Banjo on Injured Reserve as a result of his hamstring injury. Here’s the rub with Banjo: Garafolo reports that the fourth-year player would likely be healthy enough to return to the field in about a month, but that the injuries to the corners are necessitating a roster move.
