Allison’s ban was confirmed by Adam Schefter of ESPN on Wednesday afternoon, but it shouldn’t affect his chances of succeeding in one of the Packers’ most heated training camp battles.
With 12 receivers currently under contract, as many as six could miss out on the final roster.
Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams and Randall Cobb are all locks, leaving only three or four spots for the young wideouts to battle for. Right in the mix is Allison, an undrafted free agent a year ago.
Despite being passed up by all 32 teams in the 2016 NFL Draft and originally missing out on the Packers’ 53-man roster last September, Allison made the most of his opportunity when it arrived later in the season, catching 12 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns.
