Chicago — There were no moral victories in the Chicago Bears locker room after their hard-fought, 31-23, loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon.
"Green Bay's a pretty good football team," Bears head coach John Fox stated in his post-game news conference. "We were going to have to be near-flawless to beat them, and we didn't quite reach that."
But led by running back Matt Forte's 141 clock-consuming yards on the ground in 24 carries, the Bears gave it a run in the 191st meeting of the National Football League's oldest rivals.
From the rawest of rookies like safety Adrian Amos to the most seasoned of veterans like outside linebacker Jared Allen, Chicago players believed they could beat the heavily-favored Packers to start their season.
