In a reassuring bit of Packers news tonight, it seems like the bond between Green Bay Packers Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Dom Capers is as strong as ever.
According to an article written by Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, there is an inherent level of comfort in the way the two Packers coaches go about their business:
"It is especially a case of trust when a head coach runs the offense and calls the plays as is the case with Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy. When he hires a defensive coordinator, especially one as venerable as Dom Capers, he gives him complete control because there just isn't enough time to be hands-on on both sides of the ball."
The Green Bay Packers head coach admits that were some challenges to piecing together a philosophy on defense going into 2014, but McCarthy states that he "never questioned the direction we were moving forward" in regard to himself, Capers and the defense.
Compared to many teams around the NFL, Green Bay Packers fans may have very little to worry about when it comes to their team's defensive scheme, nor the men responsible for creating it.
