Kara Soucek trains for U.S. National Rowing Team in Saratoga Springs, New York

Four years ago, Soucek would have never believed she would be pursued by an elite rowing program. A first-time rower from a small town in Idaho, Soucek quickly found her niche on the Gonzaga women’s rowing team.

After steadily improving over three years, Soucek found herself in her final season as a Division I rower last spring, and she definitely wasn’t ready to stop.

“Graduating was pretty surreal,” Soucek said. “It all went by so fast.
