Some things are just meant to be together. Peanut butter and jelly combine to create a classic sandwich, thread is essentially useless without a needle, and for Jessie Loera, it is family and basketball that go hand in hand. She is now the Gonzaga women’s basketball team’s backup point guard and Loera has not, and never plans on, separating the two in her life.
“That’s what we are raised on and that’s what is most important to us is family,” Loera’s older brother, Josh Loera, said in a phone interview. “We have made that the foundation of our lives and our career paths with sports and school.
