Walk-up songs add to flavor of UL International Crown

GURNEE, Ill. – There’s no shortage of music on the first tee of a Solheim Cup, but the rowdy soundtrack is provided by fans. At the UL International Crown, where the fanbase is split among eight teams rather than two, LPGA tech man “DJ Jazzy Jeff,” cranks the tunes.

Walk-ups songs are one of the many reasons this event rocks. England’s cheeky foursome chose the perfect song to engage the crowd and offer insight into their colorful personalities: the Spice Girls’ ubiquitous “Wannabe” hit from the 90’s.

Here’s a sampling of the list of songs from Friday’s first tee:

  • Japan: “My Way” by Def Tech
  • Australia: “Land Down Under” by Men at Work
  • England: “Wannabe” by Spice Girls
  • South Korea: “Hands Up” by 2PM
  • USA: “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC
