Anybody who thinks there is no value to capturing on-course audio would have to rethink their position after the WGC-Cadillac Championship. Over the past few days, we heard some insightful dialogue from a number of players and caddies.
Capturing this audio seems to have become a point of emphasis for NBC this season. I could speculate as to why that is, but for now, I’ll simply say that I’m happy to see and hear it because it makes the live coverage better.
My favorite exchange during the tournament was between – who else? – Phil Mickelson and caddie Jim “Bones” Mackay.
